HW Stangs Guide Preview

I have been busy working on the guide the last few days. I want to preview what I have done so far. So far I think it is looking really good, but there is still a lot of work to be done. I am aiming to be completely done with it by Fall to mid Fall.

2005 Mustang (SEMA) Mustang Paint Variation

Michael Zarnock showed this photo on Facebook, showing a variation being found on the new recolor of the SEMA Mustang. The hood can be found with either gloss black or semi-gloss black hood paint, as shown in the photo below. I want to thanks Mike for letting me use this photo. Be on the look out for this variation, as this Mustang is being released in the 2016 K case.

HW Stangs Guide Coming Soon!

I'm very excited about this post. It's about something that I am currently working on and I hope to be done with it by Fall. I'm working on a guide that will be published and sold here on the site. It will contain information on just about any Mustang that Hot Wheels has released since '68! With that said, here is the cover for you all to see....

I will be posting updates as I move closer and closer to have the guide complete, and ready to publish!

2002 Gas Station Playset '70 Mustang Mach 1 Variation?

On the back of the box of the 2002 release of the Hot Wheels Gas Station playset, there is the Mustang sporting five spokes. Is this a legit variation? The gas station Mustang is hard to find as it is, so if this is indeed a legit variation, then it's got to be very hard to find. If anyone has any information about this, please e-mail me! Here is what the back of the box looks like....

Grana Toys 2016 '07 Mustang

The 2016 release of the '07 Mustang is now on sale by Grana Toys on eBay! This is the last car of the 2016 Art Cars series, which is a pretty cool series! You can access the auction by clicking on the photo below!

Information Regarding The Ovaltine '70 Mustang Mach 1

I have obtained some very good information regarding the '70 Mustang Mach 1 Ovaltine exclusive. I showed this Mustang back a few months ago, as it was the first time it had been shown online. Joseph Wiggins, a member of the collectors panel, reached out to Ovaltine about this particular Mustang. Their response will actually surprised some, as it did me. I actually thought it was an international exclusive, but this e-mail proves me wrong. I am going to share what Ovaltine's response was when asked about this Mustang, but first I want to share a picture of this "proposed" Mustang.

Looks legit huh? It's for sure has to be a custom someone did. As for the e-mail response, here is it:

"Thank you for your email. I am sorry for the delay in replying to you.
I have looked into this matter for you and have unfortunately I have not been able to find any information on a ‘Hot Wheels’ promotion. I can see from doing some research that in the 70’s it appears that Dinky did a couple of Ovaltine cars / vans but I cannot find any reference to ‘Hot Wheels’."

Are you surprised? If not, you should be! If you know anyone with this Mustang, please let them read this information!

A Look At One Of The Rarest Hot Wheels Mustangs

Hot Wheels came out in 1968, and all of the original 16 models had redline tires. The redline era went from 1968-1977. In 1975, they released the Mustang Stocker casting. Today, this casting is very popular among Mustang collectors. The very first Mustang Stocker's that were released were part of a series called the Flying Customs. There are several different color and tampo color variations on the 1975 release of the Mustang Stocker. All of them had "Ford" on each side of the roof, with "450 HP" on each side of the hood. In 1976, the Mustang Stocker was released again, and this time it was released in a series called the Super Chromes. The cars in this series had a chrome like paint job with color tampos. Again, these also had "Ford" on each side of the roof, and had "450 HP" on each side of the hood. This leads up to what this article is mainly about.

In the 1975 release of the Mustang Stocker, there was a very rare enamel white color variation. This color variation today is considered one of the rarest, if not the rarest Mustang Hot Wheels. One still in the package recently sold on eBay for a whopping $2,500! Here is exactly what it looks like! I want to thank Joseph Wiggins, a member on the collectors panel, for providing these photos.

As you can see, this is a very nice Mustang! This one is very hard to find in the condition the one in the photos is in. Again, thanks Joseph for these photos! This Mustang has been added to the redlines page!

2016 L Case Mustangs

It looks as if the international L cases have been released. In that case you can find the '07 Mustang and a recolor of the New Model '05 Mustang (SEMA). The '07 Mustang is from the 2016 Art Cars subset series. If your a collector of the '07 Mustang, you'll for sure want to pick this one up.

Have The App And Need Information About A Mustang?

June's app update just keeps getting better. It will include yet, another great tool to help any Mustang collector out there. I have created the HW Stangs Helpline. Any Mustang collector out there that has the app on their mobile devices can use this. If your needing information about a certain Mustang, all you have to do is fill out the form, select a picture to upload, and then submit it. You will get a response as soon as possible via the e-mail address you sent with the information. I am also working on something similar to put on the site.
