How Do You Display Your Collection?

The question in the topic is one that is often asked in the diecast hobby. There are several different ways to display your cars, whether your an opener and like to display them loose, or if you like them carded and like to hang them. I, myself like to leave them carded but I display the Mustangs from 5 packs or multipacks in carney cases. Carney cases are some of the most popular display cases in the hobby, and they display loose cars very good. The picture below shows the two carney cases I have in my collection. If your interested in buying a carney case or two, you can find them online HERE.

If your a carded collector, there are several different ways to display your Mustang collection. You can either hang the cars on the wall with push pins, or you can custom build your own displays. You can actually get the supples at Lowes to make a track system, which makes it where the card slides into a track and stays put. The picture below shows how this is done.

Another way to build custom displays is to make standing displays. That's the route I went and I made 3 standing displays for about $100. All it takes are several 2x4's and several sheets of plywood. I used small hooks to screw into the plywood. Here is what they look like! One side holds 54 Mustangs and you can also screw hooks into the legs to display even more cars.

And finally, the last way to display your carded cars is to buy a showcase or curio cabinet. Going this route may not be the cheapest unless you happen to find someone selling one. They make several different models and they come in many different colors. You can find them on eBay and on retail and home furniture online sites. If your lucky, you may also find someone selling one in local classified Facebook groups. That's how I found mine and I got a very good deal on it. The picture below shows what it looks like. Note, I haven't added the very bottom shelving yet.

I hope this article helps anyone debating on whether to be a carded or loose collector. Either way you go, there are for sure several different options available when it comes to displaying your collection. Each collector has their own way of displaying and that is what makes each collection unique!
