When the '12 Mustang Boss 302 debuted in the Hot Wheels in 2012, it became very popular with many collectors. What collectors didn't know until a few weeks after it's release, it had a really rare error or variation that was unique. Instead of the '12 Mustang Boss 302 body, which had mirrors, it was found with the '10 Mustang GT body, which had no mirrors. Some call this an error and some call it a variation. There were enough of these found on all three colors of the New Model release that it could easily be called a variation. When the '12 Mustang Boss hit as a multipack exclusive in 2013, the same variation was found and again, it was really hard to find. The variation was also found on the 2014 release of the Boss 302 and again, it was very hard to find. Across the board, the variation was hard to find on all of these Boss 302's. There are other variations that were found on the new model '12 Mustang Boss 302, which I will be covering at a later date.
Here is what the normal '12 Mustang Boss 302 body looks like. Notice it has the mirrors like it should and has a spoiler that isn't so tall.
Here is a '10 Mustang GT casting, which has no mirrors and also has a spoiler that is a bit taller than the one on the '12 Mustang Boss 302.
Here is the blue color New Model '12 Boss 302 with the '10 Mustang GT body. Notice it has no mirrors and a taller spoiler.
Here is the silver color New Model '12 Boss 302 with the '10 Mustang GT body. Notice it has no mirrors and a taller spoiler.
Here is the black color New Model '12 Boss 302 with the '10 Mustang GT body. Notice it has no mirrors and a taller spoiler.
Again, there are several other variations we will be taking a look on this casting at a later date. Stay tuned!
